When you meet a building that is clearly old, not new, don't laugh at its appearance but say, "How do you do?" Because underneath its wrinkles and its tired tattered shell it has a story of adventure it's just dying to tell.
Maybe it housed important folks like kings and queens and princes. Or maybe it lodged cattle when they weren't between the fences. But listen very closely as the structure spins its yarn and BAM! before you know it you may be living in a barn!
Here you sleep where hay once slumbered and you can play where tractors lumbered. You eat your snacks where sparrows perched and take a bath where raccoons lurked. You can have pet ducks who love you and follow you around. You can even have a piggie and train him like a clown.
You might find a couple of treasures hidden in the rafters. But most importantly you'll find the you you're really after. To know where you are going is best done by looking backward, into things, both good and even sad, dangling from history's ladder.
And when life starts throwing curve balls, you'll be ready for the game because life is never boring if you can embrace the change. So get your engine started and peddle on with your load, and before you know it there may be a dairy barn along the road!
